4 Train others
Summary
Train others will help organizers turn handbook material into sessions that people can use and other trainers can repeat. Its six proposed pages expand A.2.9 Training organizers, which remains the existing practical guide to learning through practice. Scope and headings await Rohan's review before detailed agendas, exercises, or trainer expectations are written.
- 4.1 Designing an agenda — Turn a concrete learning outcome into a session plan.
- 4.2 Teaching adults — Adapt teaching to participants' experience and needs.
- 4.3 Role-plays and simulations — Design practice and useful reflection.
- 4.4 Facilitating a room — Support participation and handle difficulties during a session.
- 4.5 Training trainers — Prepare others to teach, receive feedback, and improve.
- 4.6 Logistics and follow-up — Prepare the session and support participants afterward.
Sources and scope to review
Momentum's public training videos connect mass training with bringing in participants and developing leadership. Its 2023 trainer cohort description includes training for trainers, preparation with partners, coached practice, debriefs, and continued shared learning. These are useful comparisons for the training-trainers and follow-up outlines, not current program requirements for Sapiens First.
The authors' description of This Is an Uprising presents nonviolent organizing as a craft rather than a spontaneous eruption. Our proposed training chapter will need to connect practice to that organizing purpose. Adult teaching methods, detailed exercises, facilitation, and logistics remain proposed expansions of A.2.9, not claims that the book or Momentum supplies our six-page structure. Sources were checked on 2026-10-09; Rohan's review is still pending.
