0.1 Welcome to Sapiens First
Summary
Sapiens First brings people together to fight for democracy, prosperity, and security in the age of AI. This handbook supports learning throughout your involvement: understand the movement, practice organizing, take responsibility, and help others learn. Start with a short reading path or return to the section that answers your current question.
0.1.1 Who we are and why this handbook exists
We want AI to serve the common good. Sapiens First organizes for democratic renewal, common prosperity, and a secure future through public participation and peaceful collective action.
The handbook gives people shared language, explanations, and practical guidance. Use it to understand our approach, find a contribution, and coordinate with others. Learn, try a useful next step, reflect with others, and return to the material as you grow. For the account of our purpose and approach, read 1.1 Story and 1.2 Strategy.
0.1.2 Who this handbook serves
The handbook is for supporters, members, volunteers, organizers, leaders, and paid staff. Reading a page does not require holding a particular role. People can use the material that helps with their questions and responsibilities.
Start with the row that matches your situation:

| Supporting others and taking deeper responsibility | 1.4 Structure and 3 Lead |
| Helping other people learn to organize | A.2.9 Training organizers, with further modules planned in 4 Train others |

| Looking for a specific answer | 0.2.5 Find anything |
0.1.3 How to read it
Start with the basics. Every page opens with a Summary that gives what you need to act. Continue through a chapter for context, or jump to a numbered section when you need a specific answer. You don't need to read everything at once.
Open the details when you need them. Collapsible sections labelled For role holders or Background hold the extra depth.
Choose a reading path. The table above and 0.3.4 link to the numbered material. Return after a conversation, action, or training to review what worked and choose what to learn next. The reading paths are guides to learning, not restrictions on who may read a page.
Check what is ready. Planned pages name future modules; they do not yet provide a training curriculum. Drafts and pages under construction explain what is available and what still needs agreement.
Look up any term. The Glossary explains the words we use.
Find a specific answer. Use site search or Find anything. For current people, projects, and priorities, consult Atlas.
